Representation is essential in all areas of life, especially law. The Federal Bar Association (FBA) outlines its goals for diversity and inclusion for 2021 and beyond to represent more groups under the law. Inclusivity is a strength, and our goal is to help reward and foster these ideas for the youth of our future.

We want to hear about how representation matters to you in the legal profession. Lawyers represent us during a trial, but how do they also represent us as a whole? Every one of us has an idea of what the ideal lawyer looks like. Who do you imagine this lawyer to be? Bring that idea to life by writing and applying for our scholarship. We want to see your vision.

Pacific West Injury Law offers a $2,500 scholarship for college students who submit an essay describing the profile of their ideal lawyer.

What is this lawyer’s practice area? What are this lawyer’s guiding principles? What does he or she fight for? How does he or she represent you both as an individual and a client? You can take inspiration from all sources, and you can also include an example of a lawyer you personally know or admire that fits the profile of your ideal lawyer.

We are looking for essays that are:

• Well polished and free of any spelling or grammatical errors
• On-point and address the topic succinctly and well
• Between 500 and 1000 words

Feel free to be as creative as you like. We are excited to read your essay. The deadline to submit your essay and application is December 15, 2021.

Requirements to Apply

If you wish to apply for our scholarship, you need to be:

• In good academic standing with the ability to provide transcripts as proof if necessary
• A current or incoming college student

When you fill out our application and submit your essay, please ensure that everything on the form is accurate. We are not responsible for any inaccuracies. Late submissions are not allowed. Please give yourself enough time to submit your essay before the deadline. Technical difficulties are not a valid reason for a late submission.
